I've been having trouble shifting using the keyboard A/Z keys after staging in tourneys and test/tune. After staging, I have to hit the Z key twice to get into neutral. The extra step causes me to be late for the pro light at times. I don't have this problem in KOTT - works fine there, so I don't think it's my keyboard. Anyone else notice this?

I have had that happen when using the A/Z keys, I thinks it's cause of the way I had my keyboard set up though,I use the up and down arrow key and have pretty fast results with them, they are the keys I used when I was getting the .0000 rt's, and when I started getting too many reds I used the A/Z keys and that slowed me down to .01xx.Just something you may try.

Thanks for the tip Squirrel. Problem I have is I can't reach the space bar for braking using the arrow keys. The problem quit in test/tune but still have it in tourneys. I have to quit racing h2h because I don't have time to stage and the pro light comes on.

Kiteman, I use the arrow keys also. What I do to stage the car is stop it with the brake just before it reaches staged. Then I just bump the gas (1 click about the middle of the gas pedal) The car will slowly bump into the beams and as soon as it's staged I shift to neutral and get ready to launch.

I have noticed difficulty in shifting back into neutral or reverse. Almost like the first time you hit the key it doesn't register. I've also noticed that as soon as you stage (I use a mouse) and go to click on the gas pedal to bring the R's up, that doesn't register a lot of times too. I have to click on the gas pedal a second time to get it to register. If I take my time it usually works, but we all know there isn't much time. Does that make any sense?

Thanks a lot for the help guys. Now I know it's not just me, and you've given me some work-arounds. I'll give your tips a try. Gary (Kite)

I could tell you exactly why it's doing it... Don't think it would do you any good to know, but would explain the issue.

Care to know?

Sure TJ shoot. Do you know if this is a widespread problem or just some of us?

It's everyone's, trust me.

Have you noticed that while in an offline challenge (tournament, speed, team run, etc) that when you stage, the helmet disappears from the left hand corner of the screen, as well as the minimize, close, and maximize buttons from the top right? That's why it doesn't always down shift/throttle up immediately.

Easy remedy to that problem... When you are staging and enter the final stage and stop, after the jump occurs and all of the icons disappear, back out and re-stage. Everything works smooth after that.

Just watch it, because that will more than likely give you a really quick tree.
